Mentorship Program
The PHRMA chapter invites you to participate in SHRM's E-Mentoring Program. Mentoring is a win-win proposition for everyone involved. Proteges gain from the experience and guidance of an HR veteran, while mentors enjoy the satisfaction of passing their wisdom and advice on to someone who can benefit from it. The SHRM E-Mentoring Program is designed to give mentors and proteges maximum flexibility in fostering their relationship. SHRM Staff will match mentors to proteges and make the initial introductions. A short evaluation will be sent at the one-month mark and again at the six month mark.

How does focusing on people really impact the bottom line? While many leaders proclaim that "human capital" is highly valued in their organization, the "people" usually tell a different story. When people come first, compounded value is realized in performance, retention, employee engagement and bottom-line return. In rita's book, destination profit, real-life stories from nearly two dozen remarkable companies prove that creating a people centric culture does pay off! Come learn how HR can add to the bottom line.
For twenty-five years, Rita worked at Southwest Airlines in a variety of positions, most recently as director of the university of people. She received the Southwest Airlines President's award for outstanding achievement - twice. Rita is an award-winning businesswoman, a sought-after organizational consultant, an international speaker, and the coauthor of Destination Profit: Creating People-Profit Opportunities in Your Oorganization. Rita has served on several advisory committees and boards and was the 2005 National Board Chair of the 70,000-member American Society for Training and Development. She has been featured in Fortune, Business Week, Harvard Review, and the Wall Street Journal, among others. Rita is known for being a champion of possibility. Her message: "if you put people first, profits will follow."
